Top 3 summer 2014 beauty essentials

These beauty essentials that I’m going to recommend to you are a MUST. They’re like your leg, that’s how important they are. My essential are;

1) Garnier Naturals Summer Body Moisturising Lotion: I’d be lost without this. Apply this after you’ve been sunbathing to add that extra sun kissed affect. I use this a lot as I live in Ireland and the sun is scarce. It works really well without having a natural sun tan underneath and it leaves you streak free, which is amazing. Apply after a shower every night and you’ll definitely notice a change the next day.  It currently costs €9.99 and is available in light/ medium.

2) Benefit ultra radiance facial re-hydrating mist: During the summer season all girls dread that their make up will come off since it’s so warm and humid outside. This mist created by Benefit is a lifesaver!! Apply this before and after your make up and it actually helps the make up stay perfectly on your face. I was slightly hesitant when buying this as I thought it would leave your face feeling sticky, but Benefit proved me wrong once again. I highly recommend it to all my friends, especially those who need a little refreshing break during the day. It  leaves skin fresh, crisp and bright. It costs €30.

3) Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm with SPF 15: During summer time my lips always get chapped or sun burnt. SPF lip balms are fantastic as they help prevent and protect chapped, cracked or wind-burned lips. I don’t know 1 person who uses sun cream on their lips as the taste and texture is horrible. With SPF lip balms you never have to put sun cream near your lips ever again. It lasts for hours and it leaves your lips moisturised and healthy-looking. It’s a bargain at only €2.69 and can be bought in any drug store/ pharmacy.

So that’s it folks. I highly recommend these 3 items for summer as I use them and could not fault them. If you’ve any quires just pop me a message and I’d be happy to help. Hope you enjoy!

How I cover blemishes and spots

Ever get some spots that are quite visible? Come on girls, I think every one of us gets spots every now and again. I raise my hand and admit that I get them and some do not look pleasant. When I get them, I use many different processes that actually make them look invisible. I’m going to show you my cover up routine. Step 1: I use “Triple performing facial lotion” by Benefit. This is a moisturiser that makes your skin feeling smooth, and also prevents dry skin. Step 2: I dab “L’Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer” on my spot itself and a small bit of this concealer on the area around it. Step 3: I then add “No7 stay perfect blemish cover” to try and reduce the redness of the spot itself. The great thing about this product is that it has a dry consistency and it reduces the shine. Step 4: To finish off I add some powder around the region of the blemish or spot to blend in the concealer or reduce the redness. Any facial powder should work. Loose powder works better, but a compact powder will also work. Thank you for reading. A photo below shows my skin before and after I used these techniques.

Benefit “hydra-smooth lip colour”

I love love love love Benefit. All of their products are amazing for your skin and also they don’t test on animals which is a major plus. The “Hydra smooth lip colour” are a collection of 10 lipsticks designed to be universally flattering and to moisturise the lips. They come in varying degrees of intensity including peachy pink to neutrals, to berry colours. They’re formula enriched with shea butter, mango butter and vitamin E. They feel light on the lips and they also do a good job of hydrating the lips. The most amazing thing about these lipsticks is the packaging. It’s inspired by the Golden Gate bridge. The colours are blue, green and yellow on the package making them look super retro. The actual lipstick themselves products are also super adorable. Again they are inspired by that 50′s style art deco architecture. They cost €22 and are certainly worth it. Available to buy in the Benefit store, Arnotts, Boots and Debenhams. I 100% recommend them!

Benefit “Foamingly clean facial wash”

I used to use make up wipes to take off my make up until I realised how bad they were for your skin. I was on a mission to find a cleanser that was good for your skin. I bought the Benefit “Foamingly clean facial wash” for €24.50, and I personally think it’s a must buy of 2014. This 1 step facial wash cleanses the skin and removes make up. Your face feels clean and refreshed after you use it and it smells great. It removes all remains of makeup in my skin, and I love the packaging. The outside box is sealed, making it feel even more luxurious.  It’s a vintage look, with a baby blue plastic tube, and the lid is also made from plastic but is designed to look like Cork. One tube will probably keep me going for about 4-6 months as you really don’t need to use very much at all, so you definitely get your money’s worth. All of Benefit’s products are safe and healthy for your skin, and are not animal tested, which is a major plus. I really would recommend Benefit’s skincare, and they do a great little travel set featuring some minis of the range which is perfect for giving the different products a go.

Benefit “Ultra radiance facial re-hydrating mist”

I got my make up done in Benefit last Friday for my 18th birthday party, and the lady sprayed this mist on my face when my make up was done. I was scared that my make up would come off, but this mist actually protects your make up, and keeps it on your face for longer. The product re-hydrates your face, and sets makeup. To use this product, all you have to do is close your eyes and spray the hydrating mist 8 inches from face. Use after cleansing or throughout the day to refresh makeup. It is very hydrating, and I love both how fresh my skin feels with this spray. It also gives the foundation a more natural aspect. I’m waiting for Benefit to launch a handy size which can be kept in the cosmetics bag, or handbags. This is amazing, and only costs €30.00/ $26.00/ £20.50. It’s available to be purchased online, Boots, BT2, Debenhams, or the Benefit Store.

Benefit “Gimme Brow”

I have really light, and thin eyebrows, and I was sick of having the same style and shape. I purchased the “Benefit Gimme Brow”, because I heard great comments about it, and I needed a new style to my brows. WOW. It’s amazing! The “Gimme Brow” really highlights the individual hairs, so the overall look is way more natural than filling in with a pencil or product alone. This innovative brush-on fiber gel adheres to skin & hair, creating fuller brows. Another great thing about this product, is that it doesn’t smudge when you rub off your eyebrows. Available in two colours, light/medium or medium/deep. This product is essential in all girls make up bags. This magic gel found all the little fair hairs in my eyebrows, and coated them in a natural shade. It also keeps brows tidy all day. It currently costs €24.50, and can be purchased in Boots, Debenhams, Arnotts, BT2, online, and i n the Benefit store.

Benefit Facial Emulsion

I personally believe that the more expensive beauty products are certainly worth buying. The “Benefit Facial Emulsion” is a must buy. It’s a moisturiser, that contains SPF 15, which hydrates, protects and comforts the skin with an oil-free lightweight formula. It contains exclusive ultra-moisturizing ingredients to help capture & maintain water on the skin’s surface. It’s oil free, and goes perfectly on the skin. Apply liberally to freshly cleansed face and neck, and then apply your make up on. This is not a thick overnight cream type, but it leaves my face flake free! This moisturiser is available for oily or dry skin. This moisturizer gives enough hydration without being greasy.  It also smells amazing and a little goes a long way. It currently costs €31.50, and can be bought in Arnotts, Boots, Benefit store, online and in Bt2.

Benefit benetint

The “benetint” by Benefit is amazing! It’s a liquid lipstick, that can go on your cheeks too. It smells like roses, as it’s rose tinted, and lasts for hours. It was originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970’s.  It’s loved by celebs, makeup artists and girls all around the world. It’s small and compact able, so you can pop this into your bag for early-morning rushes and quick touch ups. On second thought, you don’t even need a touch up! I use benetint on my cheeks and it gives a really natural, glowing colour. It sort of seeps into your skin and melts with your skin colour. Also, it can be used on your lips for a just-bitten flush, without totally drying up your lips. The one bottle also lasts you for quite long because the liquid is some pretty concentrate stuff! It’s extremely easy to apply. All you have to do is brush strokes of Benefit’s popular rose-colored tint on the apple of your cheek and blend quickly with fingertips. Dot on lips & blend with fingertip. For a deeper “pop” of colour, repeat. I love love this! It cost’s €34.50, and is so worth it! It’s available to buy in Boots, Arnotts, Benefit store, and online.
